Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Sunday called on Deputy Chief Minister K. Pawan Kalyan, who had undergone a surgery on his right shoulder, at Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital in Mumbai.
Mr. Naidu enquired about Mr. Pawan Kalyan's condition and wished him a speedy recovery.
The Deputy Chief Minister has rotator cuff injuries on both his shoulders, but doctors have advised him to get himself operated on one shoulder at a time. Accordingly, he had surgery done on the right shoulder first on July 11.
Addressing media persons later, Mr. Naidu said he had advised Mr. Pawan Kalyan to take adequate rest and not be in a hurry to resume his duties, as doctors prescribed physiotherapy for three weeks and his left shoulder had to be examined after six months.
He said the surgery on the right shoulder was successful and it took more than three hours as the rotator cuff injury was quite serious. Whether the left shoulder injury could be cured through physiotherapy would be decided after a detailed assessment, he said.
Mr. Naidu was accompanied by Ministers P. Narayana and Anagani Satya Prasad. On arrival at the hospital, they were received by Minister Nadendla Manohar and Rajya Sabha member Lingamaneni Ramesh.
Earlier, Mr. Naidu had spoken privately with Mr. Pawan Kalyan and his wife Anna Lezhneva, and enquired about his condition with the surgeons who operated on him.
