    Thunderstorms, heavy rain to lash several Arunachal districts from today

    Thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and heavy rain are likely to affect several parts of Arunachal Pradesh today, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said in its forecast of the State.

    According to the district-wise weather warning issued by the Meteorological Centre in Itanagar, thunderstorms with lightning and heavy rain are very likely at isolated places in West Kameng, East Kameng, Papum Pare, West Siang, Lower Dibang Valley, Lohit and Namsai districts today.

    Thunderstorms with lightning are also expected at isolated places in several other districts, including East Siang, Upper Siang, Lower Siang, Dibang Valley, Anjaw, Changlang, Tirap and Longding.

    Tomorrow, the weather is expected to remain unsettled in many parts of the State.

    Sudden rain lashes Thoothukudi

    Thoothukudi experienced sudden rainfall accompanied by strong winds on Monday evening.

    For the past few days, the district has been experiencing intense heat during the daytime, making it difficult for people to move around outdoors. However, on Sunday dark clouds formed and a tornado was reported in the surrounding areas of Vagaikulam, causing damage as it moved through the region.

    Heavy overnight rain, flooding disrupts life as power supply is hit in western parts of Hyderabad

    Kethireddypalli near Moinabad recorded 12.9 cm of rainfall, while Chandanagar logged 12.7 cm and Lingampally recorded 11.7 cm of rainfall till 5 a.m. today, classified as very heavy rainfall by Telangana Development Planning Society. Eight automatic weather stations recorded heavy rainfall, and 41 sensors logged moderate rainfall, marking an even spread of rainfall over Hyderabad.
