    Elaborating on the strategic agreements signed between New Delhi and Jakarta, Prime Minister Modi said, “Today, we have signed a significant agreement to enhance technological cooperation among our youth in areas such as AI, telecommunications, and digital public infrastructure.”

    “We have also agreed to deepen startup collaboration between our two nations. We are going to establish a campus of India’s prestigious management institute, IIM Bangalore, in Indonesia; this will greatly benefit the youth across the entire ASEAN region,” he added.

    India to supply BrahMos missiles to Indonesia

    Supplying BrahMos missiles to the Indonesian military, boosting maritime security, and strengthening critical mineral supply chains emerged as key outcomes from talks between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto on Tuesday.

    The two sides inked nearly a dozen agreements to significantly bolster two-way cooperation in several areas, including critical minerals, technology, food security, medicines and maritime security.

    With the two sides aiming to bolster their defence ties, Indonesia has decided to import India’s air-to-air Astra missiles following the weapon’s success during Operation Sindoor, it is learnt.

    Modi begins three-nation trip, starts with Indonesia to boost strategic ties

    Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday arrived in Indonesia on the first leg of his three-nation tour, aimed at further strengthening India’s Act East Policy, MAHASAGAR Vision and its commitment to a free, open and inclusive Indo-Pacific.

    In a special gesture, Mr. Modi was received at the airport by Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto. In addition, four ministers were also present to receive the Prime Minister, who was accorded a traditional ceremonial welcome and a Guard of Honour.

    “Landed in Jakarta. I’m touched by President Prabowo Subianto’s gesture of welcoming me at the airport,” Mr. Modi said in a social media post.

    This is PM Modi’s first bilateral visit to Indonesia since the elevation of ties to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership in 2018.
