An infiltrator was killed on Tuesday as the Army foiled an infiltration bid on the Line of Control (LoC) in the Poonch district of the Pir Panjal Valley.
An Army spokesman said soldiers detected “suspicious movement around 300 metres inside own territory in the general area of Krishna Ghati sector along the LoC at around 4 p.m.”
“Alert troops responded swiftly and foiled the infiltration attempt, ensuring that there was no breach of the LoC. One intruder has been neutralised,” said the Army.
Troops continue to dominate the area and maintain a high state of operational readiness across the sector, the Army added.
