Lokayukta raids GESCOM officer in Kalaburagi

Officials of the Lokayukta on Wednesday carried out simultaneous search at the residence, office and other premises linked to Assistant Executive Engineer (AEE) of Gulbarga Electricity Supply Company Limited (GESCOM) Amruthrao Yalal in Kalaburagi in connection with a disproportionate assets case.

 The operation was carried out by six special teams under the supervision of Kalaburagi Lokayukta Superintendent of Police C. Siddaraju.

The search was carried out at six locations, Mr. Yalal’s residence in Jagruti Colony in the city, his ancestral house at Sulepeth village, his flats in Basava Apartments, his father-in-law’s house in Jagruti Colony, the GESCOM office located in Kothambari Layout and Faber Platinum Studio on Sedam Road in the city.

The Lokayukta Police are continuing the search and verification of documents related to Mr. Yalal’s movable and immovable assets, including residential property, agricultural land and commercial establishments.

Officials said that the value of the assets and any disproportionate wealth will be assessed after the search is completed and the records are scrutinised.
