Telugu Desam Party (TDP) Member of Parliament Kalisetti Appala Naidu has asked journalists to update their technical and language skills constantly in order to excel in their careers. He attended the ‘Maha Sabha’ of the Andhra Pradesh Journalists’ Forum (APJF) in Srikakulam on Sunday as the chief guest.
Speaking on the occasion, he asked journalists to attend orientation classes regularly as they would get an opportunity to update their knowledge and meet veteran journalists and professors from various universities.
Several MLAs Gondu Shankar (Srikakulam), Kuna Ravi Kumar (Amadalavalasa), Gowthu Sireesha (Palasa) and N. Eswara Rao (Etcherla) lauded the services of reporters and photographers during natural calamities and other difficult situations. APJF leaders shared the grievances of journalists with the public representatives present at the meeting.
They sought ₹10,000 pension for senior journalists with more than 25 years experience, creation of a journalist fund, and financial assistance to families of deceased journalists in the State.
